In the contemporary world people are very interested in the continuing of their education and receiving of the university degree. Those people, who have good educational background, have usually better career opportunities and higher level of incomes. But the studying is very expensive and majority of the students cannot cover the studying expenses without additional financial aid. One to the most popular types of the student`s aid is the student`s loan. According to the statistic, the price of the studying increases on several percents each year. Today the tuition fee amount about $ 2000 per quarter. But the salaries of the people with university degree rise as well.
There are many sources of the money for the studying. Some students borrow the money from their parents. Other students apply for receiving of the student`s financial help. There are many different types of the student`s financial aid, such as student`s loans, grants, scholarships. These types of the financial aid are provided by federal and private lenders.
In the past the student`s grants and loans were more advantageous. For example, the Pell grants covered almost all sum of the tuition fee and other studying expenses. The Pell grant was based on the needs of the particular students. But nowadays the costs on the Pell grant cover only from 25 % to 40 % of the needs. There are also some loans, which are provided only for those students, whose family income is very low.
In the same time, there are appeared several alternative types of the loans. First of all it refers to the PLUS loans, which are given to the parents of the students. They are usually very advantageous and the conditions depend on the credit score and history of the parents.
Before making the decision concerning the student`s loans, the candidates have to pay attention on some moments, such as level of interest rates, period of repayment, grace period and other terms.
